I love a good wedding

so we are on another big adventure. Leaving very early Friday morning for a wedding in Oklahoma, Molly and Colby are getting married. This is a picture of the first time ever meeting Colby. We sisters all went out for a weekend in Oklahoma in October of 2004 to watch Molly cheer. She was in 11th grade and they had been dating for a while. Aren't they cute?

These two have been together a long time and we are very excited to see them get married.

This is the quilt I made her for her shower.

I think she liked it:

Since I am trying to make this blog a little more about quilting, I wanted to show you that I quilted it with an all over stipple.

We are the funnest people we know

Alyce and I are making bumper stickers that say: 'We are the funnest people we know'  Well Mick is going to make them we are just going to put them on our cars.

More action packed days and nights:

on Sunday afternoon two of my favorites graduated from high school, Livvy and Hannah, it was great fun. Since Andrew could not attend I had to take many photos of the ceremony:

here are the girlies with their teachers, Laura and Susan:

Monday night we went here:

To watch:

This was a belated birthday/mother's day present from Mick, I wanted to go to a game this year, I only wish they would have won.  We had a great time. Alyce and I thought that Cole Hamels was going to be our Phillies crush but we decide that every time he opens his mouth he sounds like a cartoon character so we switched to Shane Victorino. Now all is right with the world. Here are some pics we took at the game:

It was Dollar Dog night Colin says he got a picture as the hotdog was shot out of the cannon tell me if you see it:

Here are fun pictures of us in the stands:

Oh sorry I am in every one.

they lost this is how Alyce and I felt

Alyce and I have a fun history of seeing people with odd hair dos wearing ill fitting hats, we always try to take a picture.

thanks for reading.

soooooo

So I have decided to rename and revive this blog. I am going to make it more quilt oriented, because I thought I really do not have much to write about and then I had a day like today.

First we had our last softball game, we were not very good. We only won one game, but we had a lot of fun this picture to me sums up softball in delco with the wawa crate full of softballs.
.

Sarah and Lori were our coaches and they did a great job.

note: Lolly is not a coach, she is bogarting into the picture

Then we came back to the house for a dip in the pool, but we were in crisis mode.  One of the fish in the pond had a stone stuck in it's mouth. So we spent the day between dips in the pool trying to catch the fish in a net.  Mick went to the Agway and purchased another net and him and Lori trapped the fish:

Then Mick tried and tried to get the rock out but it was caught on the fish lips, do fish have lips?

Finally Mick got the stone out and it was huge:

Then the fish swam away, I think he still has a very hurt jaw, but I hope he is going to be okay

So that was a portion of my day.  I am not nearly as boring as I thought, and I did not even talk about quilting. Just hold onto your hats and I promise the next entry I will talk about a quilt I made....

Poppy's Birthday

Last Sunday Poppy (my mom's husband) was 85. Jim is quite a wonderful man, and I am very happy that 31 years ago when he met my mom, a just about to be divorced woman with ten kids, he did not turn tail and run. For that reason alone he is on of my heroes. Well we all got together for a very nice Sunday afternoon for chili and mayhem at Janet's to celebrate here are some pictures:

I let Lily use my camera, I love to do that you never know what you are going to get :)

The wonderful hostess, Janet

Here is the birthday boy with Jake.

Putting on the feedbag :)

Pat skyped in from Iraq.

So we made sure he was in a group shot.

The day ended with a beautiful chester county sunset. (view from Janet's deck)

June it is

well I like angela's name and I am now calling my juki - june. Well she was the only one to respond.

I saw this quotes and it comes from one of my favorite books, Cold Mountain. Not that I thought the story was beyond outstanding, but because of how well it was written. Just in this quote you can read how he meandered through and you really grasp Rudy and her personality. You see a hillbilly woman with a distrust of the big bad world. Please read this book if you are so inclined. I never saw the movie and never intend to, when I really like a book, I rarely watch the movie. Hollywood cannot get it right.

“there was not one thing in a place like france or new york or charleston that ruby wanted. and little she even needed that she couldn’t make or grow or find on cold mountain. she held a deep distrust of travel. her view was that a world properly put together would yield inhabitants so suited to their lives in their assigned place that they would never need nor wish to travel. folks would, out of utter contentment, choose to stay home, since the failure to do so was patently the root of many ills, current and historic.”

I need to sew a bit, but hopefully later I will put up some pics of Jim's birthday party.
