graditude

So I was a total bum and missed gratitude month, but I wanted to give a shout out to my family. Probably the best way to describe them is they are nuts, but we have a lot of laughs together. Through the years we have been through a lot, our parents divorce, the death of our brother, I miss Keith every day, cancer. We keep plugging along and wetting our pants, what else can you do. What else should you do?

This picture was taken at the wedding of the first grandchild and the first wedding of the nieces and nephews. That wedding was a blast.

Girls are from Venus, boys are from Mars

So on Saturday my really fun husband said he would go with me to this quilt shop I had seen online. We got in the jeep plugged the address in the GPS and away we went. The place was in Morgantown, PA and we avoided the turnpike and went the back way through Downingtown it was a nice drive and we had a really fun time.

The quilt shop was a really kooky place, it was like a loft around a grocery store. Mick and I had a blast looking down at all the food shoppers and eyeing our purchases, we laughed a lot.

While we were driving home, we were looking at the the different cars on the road and started talking about how GM apologized for making crappy cars. I then made a very huge mistake. I mentioned that I have only owned 1 American car in my lifetime well what happened after that was Mick then proceeded to tell me every car he has ever purchased, how much they were, where he was working when he bought it and how it got wrecked (he very rarely has just gotten tired of a car and bought a new one. After many minutes of this I got completely hysterical laughing because I did not remember asking him his car history, but like a boy he felt the need to tell me. It was a very funny moment and made me really think about how different men and women are.

summer

So, I have been having a blast this summer, first, husband said yes. We got a pool:

Then Jer and Ange got married, it made my heart happy.

Then Colin had a birthday, Alyce will not win any contests with that cake, but it was a fun memory.

We had a star spangled 4th.

Rick and Traci got married, I cried.

Mick went to YouthCamp and drove in the woods with Mike Morris, I do not know what might be happening in this picture, but it makes my heart smile.

Cousins picture from YouthCamp. Love that Jamie and Ange made the picture key!!

As a nice surprise Colin's sister Meredith stopped by while on a day out with her friends.

I really want to be a person that posts more often, but we will see.

Nobody probably ever reads this thing anyway!!!

sorry so long

So I am so sorry that it took so long for me to post. I really wanted to be one of those people that started a blog and really did write things I am going to try and be better at posting.

I was just reading this blog about simple life and she had a little questionnaire that you can fill out every now and then so this at least might get me going for a bit. You will probably be bored to tears but I thought it might be an interesting exercise.

FOR TODAY (April 7)

Outside My Window - it is dark.

I am thinking that i really need to switch the laundry

I am thankful for my husband who loves me with all his heart, and lives that out.

From the kitchen Colin is making cheese quesidillas

I am creating some really fun quilts for friends

I am going to bed real soon.

I am reading the Pillars of God (I think that is the name), even though I am over 200 pages into it. I still do not know if I am going to read it.

I am hoping that is get to be spring real soon, weather wise, today was just ugly.

I am hearing the movie Signs.

Around the house things are very messy, I really hate construction.

One of my favorite things is hanging out with Mick and Colin watching a movie, it always amazes me. I am in awe of God when I see what good friends my son and husband are.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: I am hoping to have a fun girls movie night, get my hair done and finish a project.

Mario Bros

okay, so I have always love Nintendo systems. Noelle Huey told me that you can download the original games with the Wii, and I have a very handsome husband with a credit card.

So first I played this:

It was a lot of fun, I even remembered all tricks and secret places to jump to the next levels, I did not dominate the land but will soon.

Then I played this:

I forgot that when you have full life that your sword will shoot. You go to a new screen and just stand there and shoot your powerful sword to kill all those things whose names I do not know.

Know why Colin likes computer games so much? He would sit in the playpen and watch me play Zelda and be in a trance while watching all the action. I guess I ruined him.

Between loads laundry I had a very fun couple of hours.

Chicken and Cheese Enchiladas

This is one of my favorites !

Chicken and Cheese Enchiladas

About 1 pound of cooked chicken shredded

1 medium onion diced

1 jar picante sauce

Shredded cheddar cheese (I usually use 1 8 oz block and shred that)

3 oz cream cheese

Cumin

Salt & pepper

1 package of soft tortillas

Take a sauce pan and put about 1 tablespoon of butter and cook the onion until soft, once that is done put in the shredded chicken, cream cheese, ¼ cup of the picante, 1cup of the cheddar cheese, salt & pepper, and about a tablespoon of the ground cumin and mix them all together. I usually put the lid on the sauce pan and let the cheeses melt and get it all real creamy.

take about 1/3 cup of the mixture, put that in the lower portion of the tortilla and roll that up, I place it seam side down in a 13 x 9 pan that I have sprayed with PAM.

Once all the tortillas are lined up in the pan, I pour the remaining picante sauce over the tortillas and make sure it is all spread out and sprinkle the cheese over that.

Cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil and bake for about 15 minutes in a preheated 350 degree oven.

Let me know if you have any questions I am not a cookbook writer

HUH

Well I have threatened to start a blog for a while and this might be it.

I will probably post some recipes, talk about my quilting life, my life with mr podboy, the most wonderful husband in the world, and maybe even post some pictures.
